In seven days all my grandchildren (all five of them) are coming home to Oregon. We are having a little family reunion, all my children (4), spouses (2) and their children (5) are all coming home to Oregon. There will be a total of 13 of us and my parents are coming as well for a couple of days.
I have been looking forward and preparing for this for months, I want everything to be fabulously fun for all, but mostly for my grandchildren. I've got lots of fun activities planned just for them.
One of the things I've been working on is making 2 quilts for 2 of my granddaughter's who are turning 3 in the next 2 months. This is a family tradition I started when my oldest granddaughter Finnley turned 3.
Finnley's favorite color is pink :)
I wanted to give them to them in person so I have been cutting and sewing for a week so they would be done when they got here. I've had the material picked out and brought for months.
This is Zhenya's quilt she turns 3 in August and I've been told she likes green and blue, I hope she will like her quilt from grandma.
Aven turns 3 in September and I hope she will like this purple quilt I made for her. Her older sister is Finnley and she tends to like everything she likes so I'm crossing my fingers that she will like this purple quilt I made for her.
This is one of my favorite quilts I've made so far. (purple is my favorite color ha ha!)
I didn't want Finnley to feel left out so I made her a fun jewelry/treasure bag.
I will share pictures of them receiving their home sewn gifts from grandma soon.
I have been feeling very grateful these past few months and weeks as I have been sewing a lot and starting my new business of making and selling my jewelry bags and making these quilts for my granddaughters.
I am very grateful for my mother and her willingness and patience to share with me her love of sewing and the rewards that come from sharing your gifts and talents with others. My mother has made many quilts for my family, other family members and many others as well that have been well loved and appreciated.
I love being able to give gifts that brings such joy to myself and now others as well.
Thank you Mom for sharing your passion with me and setting such a good example for me and my family. Love you.
I am a soft subtle woman who loves to make others happy by sharing my gifts and talents with them.
